Santiago's Revenge 99
As some of you might of heard and most of you locals know. The entrance to Little Rock Dam closed, due to some toad or lizard, and so is the Santiago Canyon trail.. This years Hi Desert four wheelers run that traditionally runs up Santiago canyon was altered it consisted of two days of runs. One on private property Shredder canyon ( the rough run) and two to Rohwer Flats OHVA (the easy run) We left the main camp about 9:15 and caught up with our group on the road, we missed the drivers talk and the tech inspection o-well. We found our selves driving to the Rohwer Flats. Where we found long, step ,rocky trail . I found that once I put my truck at 30 degrees angles for the long climbs, it would blow white smoke out the tailpipe. But this did not affect the way my truck preformed with the marlin dual case and ARB lockers it made it with ease. Roy's(91PU) did not have such good day, forgetting to lock up his ARB in the rear axle for the two big hill climbs made it tough! Joe(68LC) and Sergio(74LC) had no problems making both climbs to the top. There where a couple of failures, one Scout lost the front drive shaft. We all stopped at the top where we had a short lunch, then headed down the other side. It was a beautiful almost the perfect day to be on the trial. We then headed back to the main camp where we had dinner and waited for the raffle at 7:00 p.m. Roy's copilot Amber and I both won prizes. By the time the raffle was over it was late and time for long drive
